* Picasa API Support — point your embeddable wall to your PicasaWeb photos * My Gallery — Create your own Flickr/Picasa photo gallery (http://apps.cooliris.com/gallery)
WOW! I just try to see my test web page and the first things i see is the speed!!!!!! faster than beta 2, excellent job!! If i see bugs i'll report here.
That is what i was wondering. I've tested out the codes using friend's server, and also created a personal page on my desktop just for the implement embeddable 3d wall by using code from developer.cooliris and link it to my flickr.com account. But nothing show up. I've tried to place that code in myspace page but it doesn't work either. it did before. why wouldn't it work now? it just stop working like the following last week. anyone know why?
Hi, Now i have a problem ;) With Firefox, i have the cooliris plugin installed so i can use the 3D wall in fullscreen, no problem. But with the flash version of cooliris, if i click to go in fullscrenn mode i have a message to go to cooliris site to install the application.....
I have also noticed the same behaviour as mentioned by toufo. I have cooliris plugin installed yet the embed will not go full screen in FF or IE, just get a message popdown. Full screen has worked for me in Google chrome, but would crash soon after. Chrome had no plugin installed of course.
I want to enable cooliris on my site with Media RSS,but on my server my photo files & video flv are stored on the folder not mysql database,so I want to add a dynamic feed. Therefore,to use scripting to dynamically generate Media RSS feeds from a folder of images. How do yo code it for a images in a folder like mine?
Hi, I just started from scratch (new Flickr & Yahoo account, etc) without any knowledge on cooliris. Here are some of my findings:
1. Using ?user= the regular username does not work, I have to use the 32423538@N02 format 2. ?user= only shows albums, if you do not have any albums, it does not show anything. This is quite confusing in the beginning 3. If you click an album to expand it, the outer borders are out of the Flash-frame, hence you cannot click the 'Open album' button or view the title and underlines. 4. The Flash movie is pushing my CPU to the edge (90%), my laptop is burning my legs right now.. 5. ?search is not returning any of my pictures, but it does return others - the pictures might yet need to indexed by Flickr
Nonetheless, this is a great tool and I'm looking forward to updates!
Thanks all for your feedback... we'll do more bug fixing this week and hopefully tune the performance a bit. However, I'm not sure we can do much more to help Flash performance, as most Flash apps that use PaperVision 3D have pushed my CPU to the max too... =)
I've tried everything to get my RSS feed working. Read everything. Tried everything min. of twice but no joy. Anyway, I have the default show running at the top of http://v4h.blogspot.com. I'm hoping you can help me with the RSS.
Just to let you know that I am having the same issues with the fullscreen mode as posters toufou and m3rocket above. Fullscreen plugin works fine in Firefox otherwise.
I'd like to include the "embeded wall" with the source of "google's images"... without creating a rss feed. e.g. I've got a fixed/permanent search-query like "Gate"... and the results returned by a search term of google's images. It's something like the search for the flickr-api : api://www.flickr.com/?search=Gate This way I wanna have it for google's images... Is this possible? Thanx...
sorry sebas_bonito, we cannot support that yet because Google Image results do not have a crossdomain.xml policy file, which is required by Flash to render photos in 3D.
Awesome work. Now the 3d wall embeded works on myspace. But there are still some minor bugs. The feed that catches images from Flickr does not work. We copy and past the original code from the page which is.
We've changed the feed to our own flicker account. But still when we put it up. It will still point to the flicker account that is not ours. It point to the account which was originally on the developer's page. Would some one tell me whats up. im kinda lost.
This works well, but I would like it to cover ALL my Picasa albums (directories) any any new ones I add!. If I leave out the album it shows the default image for each album but I can't click into that album (it goes off to the Picasa web page)
I have this embedded in a Joomla template using Picasa feed. It took a while for it to work for me Using IE7 and FF3, but it finally "woke up." Got it on IE6, different machine. But some other users cannot get it to ever load. The ripple doesn't even show. Both IE7-Flash 10 and IE6-Flash ? having trouble.
Hi Ron and the Cooliris Team! I've used Coolris on my site^ and have some suggestions: - add a message, something like "Cooliris loading now, please wait" - please, make it little more 3d if it possible )) - make it i18n friendly
It states the following: *** Using Picasa Web Albums from Flash (crossdomain.xml)
Picasa Web Albums has a crossdomain.xml file located at http://photos.googleapis.com/data/crossdomain.xml. Each of the feeds normally accessible with a base prefix of http://picasaweb.google.com/data are also accessible with the new base URL of http://photos.googleapis.com/data in order to take advantage of the crossdomain.xml file. Because the crossdomain.xml file is not at the root of the host, you must use the loadPolicyFile method to indicate the location:
Note: When logged into Picasa Web Albums through your browser, you can retrieve read-only private feeds through http://picasaweb.google.com/data because of the cookies set in your browser. This is not the case for http://photos.googleapis.com/data, as only AuthSub and ClientLogin authentication is accepted when accessing feeds via this URL. ***
I've tried embedding a Cooliris window to show my Flickr account (http://www.dcnet.com/randysteer_me/). You can do a View Page Source to see the embed code -- changed both usernames in the parameters -- tried my alias name first, then the actual Flickr ID.
It shows the pictures just fine in IE7, but in Firefox (my preferred browser) the Flash app loads (blank Cooliris window with the controls) and then the bottom of the screen shows: "Waiting for hf.cooliris.com..."
No pictures ever show, and eventually the "Waiting..." message in the browser disappears.
Re: helenbn's last comment -- MY problem is also getting curioser.
When I point Firefox to the URL she suggests (the Picasa example), the pictures load correctly. So Firefox 3.0.6 CAN correctly display an embedded Cooliris window.
HOWEVER, when I point Firefox to the corresponding /docs/ page for Flickr (http://apps.cooliris.com/embed/docs/index2.php#flickr), the images DO NOT load, and I get the same "Waiting for hf.cooliris.com" message as on my own site.
So maybe the problem is a Flickr api bug, or something wrong with the "hf.cooliris.com" server that it tries to access??
Wow, amazing! Is there a way to get flickr group pools into this? Username and album is great ... but it would be really nice to be able to get the group pool to show off community work. Thanks!
Ive only modified the RSS file for the first image to load from my website instead of zazzle.com which I used to generate the file. On Zazzle we are: http://www.zazzle.com/dibble_artworks*
I also believe I got the code before we got to Beta 3 so I am not sure if this is correct: <object id="o" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="760" height="450"> <param name="movie" value="http://apps.cooliris.com/embed/cooliris.swf" /> <param name="flashvars" value="feed=http://www.dreamingworld.info/dibble.rss" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /> <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://apps.cooliris.com/embed/cooliris.swf" width="760" height="450" flashvars="feed=http://www.dreamingworld.info/dibble.rss" allowfullscreen="true"></embed> </object> (hopefully this shows up in the forum as code and not a wall!)
I seem to be making progress but no images show up and it just hangs waiting for hf.cooliris.com
Can someone check my code or give me some clue as to what I am doing wrong? Thanks, Scott madstudios30620@gmail.com
I tried to use PicLens but it ran out of memory, am going to try again with smaller images and will upload the result to the website above.
Would really like a step by step guide to making the required RSS file or a tool to create one. What is the best source for RSS info?
Currently working with 74+ designs in t-shirts/posters from zazzle.com would like to know how to get an RSS feed working on my website with CoolIris3D, anybody working at Cool Iris read these comments?
